about the lab
Squeaky-Queen started in late 2002, and was a product of my senior honors project in college. I was graduating with a degree in graphic design, and decided to create a hypothetical bath and body "company" to design all the packaging, literature, and a website for. After the project was over, I still had the website, the supplies, and the knowledge that I'd accumulated over the year. I decided to keep it and sell my soaps to whomever happened to come across the site. Five years later it's grown by leaps and bounds, and I'm still having a blast coming up with unique soap designs, scents, and names. SQ gives me a creative outlet to draw and design, and also gives me a good excuse to buy thousands of bottles of oils, chemicals, and scents to play with.
Though SQ's creative gift-wrapped soap packages are often imitated, this is the home of the original!

I try my very best to provide a quality product at a fair price. It's not as fast as buying soap at the mall, but each soap I have available will always have been made by one person in small batches in a home soap laboratory. Not in a factory. My lab is kept very clean and hygenic (I'm a stickler for disinfecting before I work!), and is not an environment where anyone smokes or has animals.
I love what I do. I love products, branding, design, scent blending, perfumery, colors, textures, fabrics, ribbons, and paper - visual expression is a huge part of my life. I hope that my products can bring some beauty and fun into your life as well.
Cheers,
